Norwegian Reservists Association (NROF) is a political independent organization founded in 1896. The organization consists of 57 local branches nationwide, with about 6000 members in total.
NROF’s goal is to unite reservists in an association where members can debate official defense issues based on updated information, practice some of their military skills and participate in a variety of military sports. This to support the Norwegian armed forces and maintain the reservist’s knowledge.
NROF focus its work on building a stronger “will to defend” among Norwegians, through activities for the members and giving members, and others, knowledge related to security- and defense policy matters. NROF also focus on promoting the value of reserves as an integrated part of the Norwegian Armed Forces.
Norwegian citizens who serve, or have served in the Armed Forces, can all be members of the Norwegian Reservists Association (NROF).
His Majesty King Harald the fifth is the organizations protector.
As a member you will:
- Get defense-related courses, home and abroad
- Receive NROF’s magazine ”Pro Patria” five times a year
- Participate in a variety of activities and military sports, such as medical care, seminars, shooting, military skills competitions and more.
- NROF is an approved shooting association.
Annual membership fee: NOK 550,-
Junior (under the age of 25) and senior (over the age of 64), discount annual membership fee: NOK 350,-
